It's our 25th Anniversary!

On 25th and 26th August 2022, Buenos Aires was once again the meeting point for the world's most renowned specialists in service-learning. After two years of online conferences broadcast live on YouTube, this year CLAYSS offered an onsite event with streaming of its conferences and plenary sessions. More than 500 attendees from more than 30 countries around the world met on Thursday and Friday at the Juan Pablo II auditorium of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina for this edition of the International Conference. Furthermore, approximately 600 people joined online, participating from different cities on the five continents.

As usual, its access was free with prior registration. Only the plenary sessions were broadcast live on our YouTube channel.

The Conference was part of the Service-Learning Week, each year offering workshops, lectures, panels and discussions, with the participation of renowned speakers and participants of SL experiences from all over the world.

The International Service-Learning Conference hosted by CLAYSS is a space for training and updating on the Service-Learning (SL) pedagogy for educators, authorities and students of all levels, as well as members and leaders of community-based and civil society organizations. Moreover, it promotes the international exchange of ideas and experiences between schools, higher education institutions, universities and social organizations currently developing community-based educational projects. It provides a new view to all those who are not familiar with SL but are curious about the projects carried out worldwide.

This one-of-a-kind event seeks to foster more opportunities for a closer connection between civil society organizations and the formal educational system, benefiting both educational equity and quality.

In 2022, we celebrated that we could reach those who are working in service-learning in any corner of the planet, while meeting again in Buenos Aires with friends and colleagues from all over the world.

Objectives

• To offer a space for training and updating on "the Service-Learning (SL)" pedagogy for educators, authorities and students of all levels, as well as members and leaders of community-based and civil society organizations.
• To promote the international exchange of ideas and experiences between schools, higher education institutions, universities and social organizations currently developing solidarity educational projects, especially those carried out in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• To foster opportunities for a closer connection between civil society organizations and the formal educational system, benefiting both educational equity and quality.
• To celebrate the continuity of the Conference as an expression of an innovative pedagogical movement that continues to grow based on the creativity of educators and students.
